Chhatt Pooja

Hundreds of pilgrims gathered on the banks of Rapti and Ramgarh Taal and around water bodies in every corner of city of Gorakhpur. They worshiped Sun in the west this evening and shall assemble tomorrow before sun rise to worship again. This will complete their fast of 36 hours.

(Dear) Prabhat Bhai, As usual, BEAUTIFUL pictures by you that narrate the festivity tale…. I find some semblance in the Chatt pooja and the Shab-e-Yalda festivity of Iranians. Both are dedicated to Sun.

Abhay Bhai, great to hear from you. I’m curious to know more about Shab-e-Yalda festival. Recently while reading a travelogue by Asgar Wajahat, I knew a bit more about Iran and Azerbaijan. Hope you will share rituals of this Iranian festival.
